Who is eligible for GeneScan?
  • Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible for the free DNA testing kit
  • The testing kit is particularly well-suited for individuals who are interested in learning more about their ancestry or genetic predispositions
  • Individuals who are interested in becoming gamete donors and potentially helping others to start families may also be particularly interested in our free DNA testing service
  • Participants must answer a brief questionnaire about why you're interested in using GeneScan
  • We encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about their DNA and potentially becoming a gamete donor (you don't have to be certain) to sign up for our free testing kit
What information do I receive from GeneScan?
  • Ancestry information: a breakdown of the regions which your ancestors came from
  • Genetic predisposition information (these are statistical calculations, not diagnoses) from GWAS, including:
    • Breast cancer
    • Colorectal cancer
    • Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2)
    • Heart disease
    • Multiple sclerosis
    • Prostate cancer
  • Raw data, including hundreds of thousands of unique genetic markers
  • APOE genotype, which can provide information about risk for Alzheimer's disease
What happens to my data?
  • We take the security and privacy of your data very seriously
  • Your data is encrypted and stored securely to protect it from unauthorized access
  • We do not share your data with third parties without your explicit consent
